Andrew Spang received his Master of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music and a Bachelor of Music degree from Boston Conservatory. He also holds a Masters of Science in Music Education from Western Maryland College. Beside his role as tuba player and arranger with the Lyric Brass Quintet, Andy is the Director of Bands at Folly Quarter Middle School and the Director of Music at Emmanuel United Methodist Church.
In addition to his successful private studio, Andy has been on the faculty at Western Maryland College in Westminster, Maryland, and taught in the Extension Division of the Eastman School of Music and The Boston Conservatory. He has been recognized multiple times as a Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. Andrew Spang was selected as the Maryland Music Educators Association’s “Outstanding Teacher of the Year” for 2007-2008.
